The Digital Bites webinar series has just concluded, a cycle of online meetings dedicated to the digitalization of tourism in rural areas and the opportunities that digital technologies can offer for the sustainable development of territories.
The appointments took place every Tuesday and Thursday during the lunch break, with an agile 30-minute format, designed to facilitate participation even during the most intense working days. This short and dynamic format garnered significant interest, recording a significant number of subscribers from various European countries and from different areas of the tourism sector.
Over the weeks, Digital Bites has turned into a space for comparison and sharing, where experts, tourism professionals, local administrations and territorial operators were able to explore together the role of digitalization in the development of rural destinations.
The journey offered a broad and multidisciplinary look at key themes for the future of tourism in rural areas. The meetings ranged from the use of artificial intelligence to improve the planning of tourist experiences and the personalization of the offer, to digital storytelling strategies and the promotion of destinations through social media. Examples of digitalization of tourism products, innovative tools for the involvement of local communities and technological solutions for the enhancement of cultural heritage were also presented.
Each meeting represented a brief but intense learning opportunity, offering practical insights, case studies and strategic reflections useful for understanding how digital transformation can contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of rural destinations, improving the visitor experience and supporting local communities in developing more sustainable tourism models.
The great interest recorded during the entire cycle of meetings demonstrates how important it is today to create spaces for international dialogue and exchange, capable of connecting different territories but united by the same challenges: enhancing their heritage, innovating tourism services and building an offer capable of responding to the new needs of travelers.
